Having a beautiful backyard wedding on a budget

If you only have a limited budget for a wedding, it makes sense to save money on the things that don't matter to you. Sometimes a backyard wedding can be a great way to get the wedding that you want for a price that you can afford. Here are some things to consider as you start planning your wedding. 

Do you need a marquee?

Hiring a marquee can be a great idea if you are not sure if the weather will be fine or if you are concerned about the weather being too hot. It's a great way to make sure that no matter what the weather, your guests will be able to comfortably stay seated through the ceremony in hot, windy or rainy weather. When planning your marquee let the hire company know how many spaces you need for seated and standing guests, so that they can help you choose the correct size marquee for your wedding. The same company may also be able to provide chairs for hire if you need. 

Do you want to walk down the aisle?

If you want to walk down an aisle, there are a few options, including your attendants scattering flower petals ahead of you to make an aisle as or hiring a carpet runner to let you have a more traditional aisle. 

Are you going to cater your own wedding?

Paying for catering can be an expensive option, especially if you have a relatively large guest list. If you have some great cooks in your family, it can be a huge cost saving to serve your guests a meal that has been cooked by your family. You may need to hire some warming bays to help them have a way to store the food that they have made and help people to be able to serve the food. 

If you are catering yourself, you might also like to decide if you want to use disposable cutlery and crockery or hire crockery and cutlery. It's often a comparable cost to hire crockery and cutlery compared to disposable cutlery, so it's more of a wedding planning choice than a budget choice for the bride and groom. 

A backyard wedding can be a wonderful option for a low budget wedding. By hiring some of the required items from a wedding hire company, you can have a wedding that looks the way that you want, without the huge price tag of some of the more common wedding venues.
